Extremely low water has been consistent throughout the year in 2023. This limited the access for certain types of watercraft but not for our drift boat! We have a few bumps and scrapes on shallow riffles on one of the floats but otherwise, fishing success has been excellent! I have a float that is free of shallow riffles, provides good numbers of bass during low water years and that has been dependable in 2023.

Day float on the Upper river. Finally recieved our warm up and with the warm weather comes a strong wind. That made fishing tough until later in the day when the wind subsided. Smallmouth were active, several fish taken on small black poppers. Mike and Luke from Cargill fished well despite the strong wind.
